Music and its setting often go hand-in-hand. And this is certainly the case for concerts by violinist/conductor Uto Ughi who has always chosen suggestive places in which to perform – settings which alone transmit the full range of the beauty of human nature. An aspect which will certainly be present at his upcoming appearance in Albano. Hosting Uto Ughi and the Filarmonici di Roma will be the Anfiteatro Severiano, an amphitheater built by the manpower of the II Partic Legion stationed in the area in 202 AD by Emperor Septimius Severus.
And so, to the music of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, the first Anfiteatro Festival will open. From July 28 to August 16, music lovers of all types can enjoy evenings dedicated to operas, symphonic concerts, theater and musicals, as well as nine jazz events that will also offer a chance to sample local specialties in special pre-jazz concert aperitifs.
