The FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano), the body which conserves and promotes Italian heritage, is pleased to present "Sulle Note del Grand Tour", a 17th- and 19th-century musical itinerary in the splendid setting of the grounds of Villa Gregoriana in Tivoli that will take place on Saturday, July 28 and August 4 and 11 at 7 pm; and August 18-25 and September 1, 2012 at 6:30 pm.
On these six evenings, the public will be able to re-live all the excitement which nobles, intellectuals and artists experienced during the "grand tour" visits to Italy's illustrious courts that were so much in vogue between the 17th and 19th centuries.
Villa Gregoriana and the area around Tivoli with its enchanting remnants of Ancient Rome were among the most popular destinations for these aristocratic travelers which also included many musicians. And it is in their honor that these guided tours at sunset are being offered, enriched by the suggestive live music performed live by violinist Mario Peperoni that will accompany visitors inside the park. Music will include the works of famous composers from the Italian Grand Tour era, including Mozart and Liszt, the latter having special ties to Tivoli where he lived for an extended period of time.
Following the guided tour, visitors will be able to prolong their enjoyment of this enchanting villa with a sumptuous aperitif set up in the area of the acropolis temples.
Because the number of participants is limited to keep the groups small, reservations are required by calling +39 06.39967701 or +39 0774.382733. These evenings were conceived, planned and organized by Pierreci Codess Coopcultura (www.pierreci.it).
