Sixty-seven years on from the bombing of Propaganda Fide (on February 10, 1944), the municipality of Albano Laziale will be hosting an exhibition called “War Memories” ("Memorie di guerra") at Savelli Palace. The displays will contain written documents, photographs and sculptures to bring together the memories and impressions of those who wanted to attest to the horrors of the war.
The display will be opening on Friday 4 February at 17.00 in the atrium next to the “sala della Formazione”. It has been organised into three separate sections: 1) Photos and mementoes from the Propaganda Fide Association Archive; 2) a photographic exhibition about Auschwitz produced by student Alessandro Lisi during his school visit to the concentration camp; 3) An exhibition of sculptures by Giorgio Galli, combining visual and literary texts with the ideological inspiration lying behind them.
The exhibition is organised by the Victims of the Propaganda Fide Bombing Association in collaboration with the cities of Albano and Castel Gandolfo and the province of Rome. It will be running until February 13, 2011.
