The “Trajan Villa” Antiquarium was opened in 2004 and was designed as an important tool for the interpretation and understanding of the large archeological complex from which it takes its name.
It holds the collection of the most important artefacts uncovered during excavations. They are displayed in order to best express the didactic function of the collection.
The collection includes elements used in the wall structures of the Villa, which often preserve hallmarks of production and quarries.
The museum also hosts some domestic tools, a direct testimony of the daily life which must have unfolded within the complex.
There are also marble basins, vases and marble decorations which came from the monumental garden area.
The museum is equipped with information material that is able to guide the visitor towards a greater knowledge of the exhibits.
