The rapid population increase in the town of Colleferro in the second half of the 1950s made the building of a new parish church a necessity. Called in by the Diocesan Bishop Mons. Pietro Severi, the Conventual Friars bought some land to the side of the Via Consolare Latina and the cornerstone of the new Church of Most Holy Immaculate Mary was laid on 13 May 1956. Work began on 29 November 1957 and the new church was consecrated on 1 May 1964 by the Bishop of Segni, Mons. Luigi Carli, and entrusted to the pastoral care of Father Gaetano Gizzi.
The church has a Greek cross floor plan and the façade is enlivened with a large triumphal arch. A bell tower rises up on the left side. Over the years, with help from the congregation, the church has been decorated with excellent works of art which include the grandiose mosaic at the centre of the apse depicting Mary Immaculate by the Vatican Mosaic Institute. On the 25th anniversary of the parish, an artistic tabernacle was created, presenting the façade of the church. New areas for parish use was commissioned by Father Ercole Dell'Uomo and funded by benefactors, especially the Fagiolo family.
Inside, the Church holds a small chapel dedicated to St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe, which is used to celebrate Mass during winter. In Easter 2000, the baptistery at the entrance was inaugurated. After months of intense restoration work and remodelling, including updating the building to the new safety regulations, the Most Holy Immaculate Mary Auditorium was inaugurated. A modern structure, it contains many resources that make it adaptable to many and diverse needs.
