Initially the chapel of the ancient castle, the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption in Agosta was built in 1700 on the site of an earlier funeral temple. The church, which has been modified and enlarged over the centuries, is today a neoclassical structure with a wide, light filled nave and two aisles.
The interior has a trussed ceiling. The naves are divided into two rows of three rounded arches.
The very simple, almost austere, church has seven altars: the main altar in the centre, three arches on the right and left.
