The church of Pisoniano has been dedicated to St. Paul since the dawn of time, perhaps because of the tradition that has the apostle begin his preaching of the gospel here. The earlier building had four altars: the main one dedicated to St. Paul and the others to St. Victoria, Our Lady of the Rosary and Our Lady of the Mount.
The present building, constructed in the early 20th century, greatly differs from the original structure, which dated back to the 12th century and was restored in both the 17th and 18th centuries.
The interior features a nave and two aisles with arches divided by pilasters painted to resemble marble. The ceiling is pannelled and the string-course cornice has various decorative elements in white and gold stucco. The apse is crowned with a richly decorated bowl and features the altar piece dedicated to the patron saint. The side altars contain three paintings and a wooden statue of St. Victoria.
