The archpriestly church of St. Peter Apostle in Poli was built between 1603 and 1610.
It was built by the Conti family of Poli to replace the previous, smaller church which had fallen into disrepair and was demolished.
The bell tower, considered 'architecture to great effect' dates to the same time as the church and copies the superimposed levels of the bell tower of the Cathedral of St. Stephen in Vienna. In the last century, Mons. Cavalier Giuseppe Rosa provided many furnishings for the church; altars, holy water fonts and flooring.
