Browse fullscreen [x]

Built in 1400, the Collegiate Church is dedicated to the patrons of Rignano Flaminio, the Martyr Saints Vincent and Anastasius, whose feast day is 22 January.

The church holds a nave and two aisles and has a trussed ceiling. It is embellished by numerous Renaissance altars and frescoes which date back to 15th century. There is a Crucifixion from the second half of 1500 on the altar. To the left of the main altar is a 1500s holy oil tabernacle from 1500. The church also holds a 1578 Renaissance stoup and a notable canvas of the Virgin with Child and saints by Anastasio Fontebuoni.

The building was restored in the 18th century and the last chapel on the left was decored with stucco and paintings attributed to the Zuccaris. Two chapels were created on the other aisle. The sacresty holds a Saviour by the school of Perugino. The 17th century frescoes were painted by the Sabine artist Vincenzo Manenti.

The base of the column in the churchyard holds a funerary inscription to Pontia Modesta, probably found in the Catacombs of St. Theodora in “Castrum Ariniani” in the Rignano Flaminio area. 65 bodies of presumed martyrs were found in this place and solemnly moved to the collegiate church.
