Remains of St. Euplius in the Church of St. Charles Borromeo - Cave

The parish church dedicated to St. Charles Borromeo in Cave was built in Doric style in the 17th century. The church is considered one of the most interesting of the Prenestina Diocese with the convent next door and a splendid 18th century cloister that has recently been restored. The church houses the remains of St. Euplius.
The church was badly damaged by the earthquake of 6th April 2009 which had its epicentre in Aquila and was closed for worship until 7th March 2010. During this time, Sunday mass was celebrated in the cloister, weather permitting.
