Organized by the Associazione Do-Mani: Spazio 2010 and sponsored by the Province of Rome and Town of Zagarolo, the goal of this event is to showcase and promote new musical talent. Over the years in the previous nine events, over 100 up-and-coming bands and 500 musicians have appeared on its stage and from June 22-24, Cover The Top, the showcase for young musical talent, will fill the town of Zagarolo with music.
 
On the evening of June 16 in Valmontone, in the Rainbow Magicland amusement park, a brief preview of the main event will be offered, with the Cotton Club Live cover band at 6 pm and Animasoul at 9 pm.
 
In total, twelve cover bands of a range of origins and styles – from rock to jazz – will be performing on-stage, while during the afternoon sessions, selection for participating in the Accademia di Formazione Musicale, Roma Rock School, will take place. And a number of students from the Accademia will perform live during two of the three evenings.
 
New this year, the Swap Music Party. Each day, from 5 to 6 pm, you can trade musical instruments, LPs and/or non-mastered music CDs in good conditions – in today’s crisis environment and with the trend towards more sustainable consumption, this offers a totally innovative way of shopping aimed at saving and helping the environment.
 
But the Swap is just one of the many activities. On Saturday June 23 and Sunday June 24, from 2-7 pm, you can take part in the first Calcio Balilla – Cover The Top competition and also watch and vote for the best dancer in the first Cover The Top Street Dance meet/competition.
 
As every year, there will be food stands offering local Zagarolo specialties, promoted by the Accademia del Tordo Matto, the food and wine section of the Associazione Do-Mani: Spazio 2010, the event organizers.
 
Cover The Top X will have direct web access on a dedicated channel provided by Ustream.tv and available with real-time iPhone and Android updates thanks to Fiesta!
