For some time, the municipality of Filacciano used a tower as its emblem, a choice deriving from the original building.
Ownership of the Casalis Flaccianus – Filacciano Castle was granted to the Abbey of Farfa in 817 by Pope Stephen IV.
Many centuries later, in 1300, the territory passed to the Orsini family who held it until 1544 when they were forced to concede it to the Savellis. It became property of the Del Drago family around mid 1800s.
The Del Drago Palace was built on the site of the castle.
The Muti family crest on blocks of stone placed before the entrance arch, which belonged to the Del Drago family, and the Orsini crest in the parish church, originally part of the castle, bear witness to just a few of the previous owners.
