The main body of the castle, which develops vertically, is of a grey reminiscent of stone, the old plastering, which is almost entirely blotched, helps the building blend into the landscape, while the more recently conceived garden, the work of the Marchioness Umberta, is full of roses, which in May return the place to its earlier splendour, as they accompany the natural contours of the land that surrounds the building.
Rustic fountains made out of ancient drinking troughs, paths surrounded by flowered borders, tufa steps which climb up the steep rock slopes, leading to mysterious shaded paths.
