The milepost, which stands on a pedestal in Piazza Valeria, refers to the 38th mile of the Roman via Valeria.
The column, which dates back to the time of Nerva, was found last century in the Sonnoletta hamlet, downstream of the old Aprutina, which coincides for the most part with the Valeria consular road.
The column, topped with a Phoenix, the emblem of the Arsoli Municipality, was arranged as it is today by the Prince Camillo Massimo, in 1874, to mark the third centenary of ownership of Arsoli on behalf of the Massimo Family.
