The Museum has a decidedly territory feel to it and it aims to safeguard and study the environments of natural interest in the area: in particular the national parks of Nomentum, Gattacea and Barco.
The exhibition is held in three rooms and a small laboratory.
Five glass displays have been set up depicting the main environments of central Italy: the Beach and the Dunes, the Humid Zones; the Broad-leaved Wood, the Mediterranean Scrub, the Mountains.
The animals and plants of these environments, prepared and arranged in natural poses, appear lifelike in the eyes of visitors. You can see the viper hunting a little mouse, the glimpse of an oak forest, in all its varied flora, the woodpecker clinging to a tree trunk and the golden eagle, scanning the valley from its lofty perch in search of prey.
In the background of the glass displays, large posters reproduce the environments of the some of the animals exhibited, illustrating their habits, food relationships and biological cycles. Large photographs of plants and animals complete the representation.
