Browse fullscreen [x]

The museum is housed in the "tinello agricolo" (wine vat) in Vigesimo where, on 28th May 1944, the German troops during the occupation slaughtered eleven unarmed citizens in retaliation. In the case of the Cervi brothers, five of those shot belonged to the same family.

Devoted to these people and all the civilian victims of the war who died in the territory of Palestrina, the museum is currently situated in two rooms on the ground floor of the farm: illustrative panels of the principal historical events and some phases that characterized the fascist period in the Prenaestina area, from their rise to power until the end of the Second World War.

Texts and images show the socio-economic reality of the zone during the rise and consolidation of fascism, the war and the Nazi occupation, the events related to the Resistance and the Partisan struggle, up to the proclamation of the Republic.
