The Naturalistic Museum of the Prenestini Mountains, which celebrated its opening in June 2001, is equipped with innovative educational and exhibition systems that offer a complete view of the Prenestini Mountains. It is the ideal centre for excursions into the territory, indicating special routes.

The rooms host faithful reconstructions (dioramas) of the most characteristic environments of the Prenestini Mountains, such as: pastures, glades, a varied wood, fresh water and the karst grotto; there are also information panels on topics linked to the biology, geology and paleontology of the territory.

The Museum is also part of a project which aims to bring together Schools and Museums in order to develop children’s awareness of their own territory and to guarantee it is respected and safeguarded.

Visitors can find all the necessary information about the territory within the Museum and then set out on the routes for a direct knowledge of the environment and its local traditions.
