Night Museum - Nazzano

Within the Reserve, Casale Sandroni, also called "Casale della Vedova”, houses the small Night Museum on two floors.
A striking name for a simple but effective display that documents one of the most fascinating aspects, from a naturalistic point of view, that the Park can offer; that is, the secrets of its night life.
Like the River Museum, this exhibition derives from a mainly didactic project and is divided into two sections: geological-astronomical and biological.
Through tribal tales, didactic panels, simple dioramas and large scale models, scientifically-correct notions are provided in a language that can be understood by all, for a correct study of the proposed themes.
The ground floor room is particularly attractive where a blue vaulted-ceiling, which acts as a frame for the flight of large nocturnal butterflies attracted by the reflected light of the moon, envelops the environment dedicated to themes linked to astronomy, astrology and animal migrations, commented through back-lit didactic panels.
Next to this room, a small laboratory allows you to “touch with you own hands” many living creatures that find their raison d'être during the night, such as insects, millipedes, scorpions and some nocturnal birds of prey.
The Reserve’s “Nocturnal Route” is closely linked to the museum. It takes you comfortably to the river bank and joins with the well-equipped “La Fornace” route, designed within the Reserve in order to capture the most significant aspects of the river habitat.

The museum is currently closed for renovation.
