The Accademia Musicale Romana, in collaboration with the Municipality of Saracinesco, the Municipality of Ciciliano, the Lazio Region and the Province of Rome, has organized the second edition of the Accademia Festival, set to take place from July 11 to September 9, 2012 under the guidance of Artistic Director Giuseppe Martone. The Festival will begin on July 11 with the inaugural concert given by the world-renowned pianist Bruno Canino (busy with a program devoted to the waltz). The concerts will take place in the enchanting little village of Saracinesco, the smallest municipality in the Province of Rome, nestling in the splendid landscape of the Aniene Hills and rendered particularly inviting by the tasty typical produce and the warm welcome the locals are famous for. Saracinesco is about 50 km from Rome, and this year visitors will have the pleasure of enjoying music in the splendid Theodoli Castle, in the Municipality of Ciciliano. The calm, serene atmosphere is ideal for a pleasant stay, feeding the soul and the mind with centuries of history and genuine traditions. The Festival will be complemented by a variety of Masterclass lessons (piano, guitar, violin and harpsichord) aimed at young musicians and students seeking to improve their musical skills under the guidance of famous professionals. These Masterclass teaching and study days will be joined by the concerts of the 2nd edition of the Accademia Festival 2012, which will feature professional artists alongside a number of young musicians, including those who have taken part in the Masterclass lessons, as well as the winners of the “Premio Accademia” (Accademia Award), the prestigious International Competition held in June in Rome: the hallmark feature of the Accademia Festival is the opportunity it offers young up-and-coming talents to perform alongside professional artists.
