A fortified structure belonging to the Orsini family, it had double walls which stretched as far as the lake as protection for the village. Destroyed in 1946 by Giovanni, brother of Cesare Borgia, during the course of the war waged against the Orsini’s by Pope Alexander Borgia, who however never manage to seize Bracciano Castle.
The Rocca was easily reached from the parvis of the Assunta Church; from its ruins one can enjoy a stunning view of the lake and the nearby villages visible over the roofs of the village of Trevignano.
