There’s a wide ranging programme of shows and events lined up across the provincial territory for the fifth edition of “La Provincia va in scena” (The Province takes centre stage), a theatre project initiated by the Provincial Culture Department, put on in collaboration with ATCL (Associazione Teatrale fra i Comuni del Lazio - Theatre Association of the Lazio Municipalities).
The new 2011 theatre season makes room for traditional plays with great classics and historic names, along with works by many contemporary Italian authors and emerging youngsters. There are plenty of events on offer, including workshops to learn about the different kinds of theatrical forms. There is also plenty of drama, music and dance, with a strong contemporary element this year and particular attention paid to children’s theatre. “La Provincia va in scena” comprises 33 productions, 62 shows and 22 workshops and involves a total of 18 municipalities, with eight theatre workshops for adults, teenagers and kids.
The event’s main aim is to create a quality theatre circuit across the provincial  territory, acting as a cultural network through which the public can enjoy watching live performances on stage.
