The site the museum occupies starts from the area of the baths the Emperor Caracalla had built.

The museum is dedicated to the second Parthian legion, stationed at Albano in 202 A.D. by Emperor Septimius Severus.

The museum collection includes: exhibitions about the aspects of daily life, the Severus dynasty, a reconstruction of the arms of the main military figures, necropolises. The museum also has valid didactic auxiliaries like an interactive multimedia installation, a projection room and an external area for practical experiments.
