The site is a museum itinerary of extreme archaeological, historical, geological, botanical and zoological interest that crosses a territory that is one of the most charming in the Roman countryside.
The itinerary begins with the visit of a stretch of the Via Prenaestina Antica, with its 'Tagliata” (Cutting) in the limestone of S.Maria di Cavamonte, followed by the Ponte Amato “Beloved Bridge”, a masterpiece of the Roman road engineering.
It is from here that the Roman Aqueducts, Anio, Vetus, Aqua Marcia, Anio Novus and Aqua Claudia cross a territory that is characterised by numerous deep parallel valleys that have a series of gullies carved into the limestone.
To cross these gullies, the ancient Romans built monumental bridges like the ones in Bullica, Caipoli, Taulella and Pischero that arouse admiration still today.
