The Paleo-Christian cemetery of Rignano, which according to legend was instituted on the estate of the matron Teodora at the 28th mile of the via Flaminia, stretches out along the western side of the consular road, in the vicinity of the 26th mile of the ancient thoroughfare, and today stands at km. 40.600.
With its over 900 graves, it is one of the most significant Paleo-Christian burial complexes of the Ager Capenas. The cemetery hosted the burials of four martyrs, whom the Emperor Diocletian had beheaded in 303.
