The present aspect of the Sforza -Cesarini Palace is due mainly to the restructuring and expansion commissioned by Duke Giuliano Sforza-Cesarini, between 1713 and 1730, and supervised by the architects Ludovico and Domenico Gregorini who remodelled the façade and added another floor.
The entrance portal is by Domenico Michele Magni. The rear prospect was created by the work carried out by Duke Lorenzo Sforza- Cesarini and his wife Caroline Shirley to a design by Augusto Lanciani.
The park was also remodelled, along the lines of an English garden, and extended down to the lake. It represents an important historical site which was much visited and reproduced by Italian and foreign artists in the 19th century.
Recently restored and open to guided tours, this romantic park is one of the most picturesque areas in the Roman Hills.
