Strawberries and Cherries

 
Nemi and the Sabine area turn a delicious red in this part of late spring as the strawberries and cherries ripen. 
The strawberry festival on June 3 in Nemi is countered by cherry festivals in Sant'Angelo Romano and Palombara Sabina on May 23 to 27 and June 7 to 11 respectively.
In such a luscious setting, the Enoteca Provincia Romana certainly could not miss the opportunity to celebrate the delights of the season: Its “Fragole e ciliegie” ("Strawberries and Cherries") event, with free tastings, will be held on May 29 at 7 pm, offering a rich tasting menu:
·         strawberry risotto
·         white pizza with primosale (fresh pecorino cheese) and cherries
·         strawberry and cherry tarts
·         rice pudding with cherries or strawberries
·         ice cream and strawberries with Cannellino
·         strawberries with mint
·         cherries
