The Villa Chigi-Versaglia, located a kilometre and a half away from the town centre, dates back to the second half of the 17th C. and was commissioned by the cardinal Flavio Chigi, nephew to Pope Alexander VII.
Currently in a state of serious disrepair, only one of the towers, known as the “Torre Colombiaia” (Dove Keep Tower), is still standing. Originally this tower stood at the entrance of the villa and had three floors to it. Remains of the main hall and an elliptical shaped chapel are also still visible.
